Bismillah, Assalamualaikum.

It was a nice day today although I got myself drenched in rain on my way back home, huhu hope I wouldn’t get myself sick tomorrow. Bought myself a cup of mocha milkshake from family mart this morning (because of promo) hehe. Ouh yeah what makes me really happy today is because they’re a food truck selling keropok lekor, goreng pisang and some other kuih beside my university! Aaaa it’s so hard to find those food here. I think after this I will go there often hahaha.

Besides that, I also feel excited today when I know that today is Sister Aida Azlin’s birthday. I have been following her since last year, and I love her work. From love letters to youtube video then ig tv and AA Plus!

I still remember last year during Ramadhan, I baked some “tart nenas” and while baking it I listen back to all Aida Azlin youtube video.

At that time I really like her youtube video title “Are You Worried?” because I guess I worried a lot at that time, maybe now too? but as time passes by I learned to control it, in shaa allah.

Although we never met, but the way she shows her love through her works for all the sisters in the sisterhood makes me feel close to her.

She also never fails to send love letters every Tuesday, which makes me learn about determination and shows how passionate she is in her work. In life, we have to be determined to get the thing that we want. Put your best effort and accompany it with dua and faith in Allah. Believe me, Allah will always listen to our prayer, it is just a matter of time. He is Al-Alim (All Knowing) and As Sami (The All Hearing).

Apart from her work, I like her taste in fashion. Simple and cute!

From Sister Aida Azlin I know about Sister Raja Sarina, both of them are best friends and their writing is really beautiful. I once listen to their podcast from AA Plus, it was really fun to hear their conversation. Although the podcast is raw but full of content that we can learn. From Sister Aida Azlin too I know about Sister Fadhilah Wahid and many more wonderful sisters, alhamdulillah.

Sister Aida Azlin also organizes a trip to Korea for the sisters in the sisterhood but it is limited and I guess you guys can ask her fun places in Korea because she had been there countless times. I always wanted to join that trip but need to save up some money first (pray for me guys!)

And to all the students out there, that might read this post and need some motivation I want to leave something that Sister Aida Azlin wrote in one of her picture in Instagram

“If you have no idea how what are you are studying will help or affect what you are gonna do in the future, trust me, it will come back to help you, one way or the other. Coz Allah’s plans for you (including what you are studying right now) is NOT random. Your job right now is to just be the best student you can be and soak it all in. It will come back to be of benefit. No knowledge is wasted knowledge.”

Lastly, I just want to say thank you for never giving up in your work of art. For always giving your best to help this sisterhood. You never know how much your work inspired me (there are also some videos/letters that make me cry guys because it really touched my heart and I can relate to it instantly.)

May your journey to help this sisterhood be blessed by Allah, Amin.

Assalamualaikum

I remember last few weeks, I looked back into my old stuff (I’m sort of sentimental kind of person), mixed feelings flowing inside me as I flip every page, read every line and touch again the ‘memories’. 🙂

Letting go is not an easy thing when it is related with something you cared about, it can be a headphone that you love so much, any relationship that you hold dearly or even a habit.

The phrase ‘letting go’ sometimes irritates me maybe because I don’t like to lose anything.

But do you realize that trees also learn the meaning of letting go,

Because to grow, trees need to let go of the dead leaves and even those flowers which used to bloom beautifully.

For me letting go is accepting there are things in this world that you can’t control.

Letting go is setting yourself free from things that no longer serves you 

Letting go is releasing your doubt, fear and worry about a person, situation or outcome.

Why hold onto something which doesn’t give you any benefits? I know some people don’t want to let go because they are afraid they won’t experience the same thing again.

There are also some people who don’t want to let go because they remember all the happy moments and the good things those people/things had done for them.

It’s okay to have an attachment but you need to think about the pros and cons too.

Reflect again those things that doesn’t spark you anymore, that don’t help you to grow and be the best version of yourself.

It’s okay to let something go after countless of times fixing it. It okay to change different course, to end a long term friendship or to even change your interest.

Everyday we have a choice to keep holding on just a little bit longer, or conclude that today is the day we will finally let go.

Don’t burden yourself with to many weight on your back, because your journey is still long.

I read a book “The Art of Thinking Clearly” it said that ;

“Of course, they may be good reasons to continue investing in something to finalize it. But beware of doing so for the wrong reasons, such as to justify non-recoverable investment. Rational decision making requires you to forget about the costs incurred to date. No matter how much you have already invested, only your  assessment of the future costs and benefits counts.”

How can you spark again if you still hiding in the dust.

Wipe the dust,

Hold your pen firmly,

And start writing a new chapter.

Remember this,

Don’t scratch a wound that’s still healing,

Let the wound heal with patience and with prayer. It will not be the same but in shaa allah it will be better.

Let it go and move on, and may Allah always guide us on the right path.

Assalamualaikum everyone ☺️

I don’t have any specific topic to write about but i feel like writing something.

There are some things that happens in our life that we feel hard to accept it. And sometimes we like to ask questions that we already knew the answer, hoping what you’re thinking at that time are not true.

We might take weeks, months or even years to accept it.

But always remember that Allah S.W.T already remind us that;

During that time to heal/accepting I know it’s hard not to breakdown when memories running through your mind.

We might start questioning everything that is happening, why Allah choose us, why do we have to go through this pain and etc.

Just let those feelings flow inside you, acknowledge that feelings.

“If you hold back on the emotions – if you don’t allow yourself to go all the way through them – you can never get to being detached, you’re too busy being afraid. You’re afraid of the pain, you’re afraid of the grief. You’re afraid of the vulnerability that loving entails.

But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what love is. You know what grief is. And only then can you say,

”All right. I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion for a moment.”

If you guys watch disney movie “inside out” you will learn that feeling sad is not a bad feeling, so don’t ignore it. Beside happy life doesn’t meant not having any sad moment in your life.

I promise you my love everything that happens in your life has a reason behind it, you might not see it now and maybe not tomorrow but always believe in Allah because He is the one who planned everything and He planned everything beautifully.

Allah love you more that anyone ever will.

And no one is really ever “alone”.

Don’t despair okay?

Have faith that there’s beauty in the struggle.

Promise me when things gets hard always remember that Allah is with you.

And promise me to always forgive yourself and people around you.

Take a deep breath and let everything go.

Class will be starting tomorrow sort of nervous/worry to enter this new journey 😣 because I believe things will get more serious and tougher, but in shaa allah I will try my best to ace every single paper (Please pray for me and my batchmates okie !? To be successful in this dunia and akhirah, May Allah bless all of you). 😊

Ouh yeah did you guys realize i bold the word worry ? This is because today I would like to write about worrying.

I guess everyone worry it’s a normal feelings to feel when you are thinking about something that might effect your life or other people life who you care about, it’s not a bad feeling but it depends on how you control/react to that feeling. Either in a positive way or a negative way.

And to be honest when I first started writing I do felt worry, about people reaction when reading my post, will people judge my writting ?

So I overcome this by remembering back my intention to write.

I write to reflect myself, because when I write I need to think, feel, analyst and everything that I write related to what I’m facing right now. So it like a reminder for me.

And therefore that is why my blog name is “Dear Sofia.”

Beside that I also write to improve my writing skills so it is fine if people want to judge my writing, actually it will be really helpful ! In shaa allah.

There are so many things you can do to calm yourself from worrying. I will list down some of the things that I do that might be helpful ;

1. Have a date with Allah. Talk to Him about your problems, surrender your heart to Allah

Who is better to soothe your heart than the One who is in control of it?

and feel that worry being transferred from your shoulders, over to Him. And if you want to talk to someone about your problems, pray that Allah will send you the right person.

2. Surround yourself with nature. Trust me, it feel so calm to just sit back and watch His creations, it will helps to clear our minds.

3. I would call my parents because just hearing their voice make me feel calm. ❤️

4. And sometimes when I’m at home, I like to rent at my cats 😂 than will ask my cats to pray for me.

5. I write.

6. And there is something that will struck my mind when I feel worry, the condition of my heart.

Who am I actually relying to ? And also about my solat, do I really perform my ibadah or just doing my routine? Because for me this two are related with our life (So i will check back this two things.)

And many more ways that you can do. (everything depends on the situation.)

If you are feeling worried about your past, try to shift back your focus to where you are standing right now. Because past is past, there is nothing you can do about it. Where your are standing right now that matters, appreciate the time you have now. Plus we even called it as “present” so aren’t you happy with your “present” ? Are you really going to waste it?

So don’t hurt your back guys, just take a deep breath, enjoy the view and always be grateful !

So before I end my writing I would like to remind all of us that the writer of our life is Allah. He had planned everything that will happen in our life before we are born into this world and He had planned it beautifully. It is us who need to put the effort to go through this life the way Allah pleased.

Always believe in Him and don’t give our worries to much power over us.

Sister Aida azlin also said in one of her videos ;

Let’s not carry the worries of this life because it is for Allah. Do not also carry the worries of sustenance, because it’s from Allah. And do not worry about the future. Because it belongs to Allah.

Okay dah lama tak tulis kat blog, sebab sort of busy with study and so on. Mari bersihkan habuk habuk kat sini *poof poof !*

Today I want to talk about *drumroll!* LOVE ! There are many kinds of love, love towards our Creator, towards our family, friends, animals and so on but love yang selalu orang lupa (including me 🥴), is SELF LOVE !

To be honest, I feel guilty to myself because I know I am lacking of self love and because I lack of it, I hurt someone feelings 😕 And I decide to go on a journey of self love, in shaa allah.

So what is self love? (I asked some of my friends about their opinion of self love.)

• “Self love to me is like treating myself like another person. I give her credit where its due, I criticise her when she makes mistakes and feel proud of her when she does well.”

• Sister Aida azlin said in on of her videos “Self love for me is about getting to know ourselves through how Allah wants us to know ourselves, and not how the society wants us to view, or judge ourselves. Because Allah SWT is telling us that we are created in the best of form. (95:4) but the society, on the other hand, is telling us that we are not beautiful enough, that we are not perfect enough, that we are never (fill in the blank) enough” you can watch her video through this link ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0ej3CTvmJc )
• “When we prioritise ourselves first. It suits in many different situations. contoh bila kita insecure ke or apa apa ke and then ramai cakap bad things about kita. kita takleh la terima apa dorang cakap then sedih, kena la lawan. nanti diri yang sakit. then lain situation pulak is when we are in love with someone, janganlah sampai sakit kan diri like sedih ke overthink ke sebab kan kita nak happykan or jaga partner kita.”
• “Self love is to live a happy life with confidence.”

Why do we need self love?

• Someone i know told me that, because at the end of the day you only have ‘you’. If you don’t have self love, it means you’re not accepting yourself and it leads to insecurities, trust issues, anxieties and all. You need to have self love before loving anyone else, because others might not like you the way you are, but you.. only YOU !
• when you have self love, we will treat others like how we want to be treated.
• with self love, kita akan belajar untuk appreaciate anything yang kita ada sekarang, and tak compare diri kita dengan orang lain (in a negetive way). Setiap orang yang Allah cipta ada kelebihan tersendiri, and kita semua ni saling melengkapi.
• when you have self love, you know when you need to let go of something that bring negetive impact to you even when you don’t want to.
• when you have self love, you will love yourself 100%, so when someone layan kita 80% je kita takkan terima, why ? because kita akan cari orang yang sayang kita lebih dari 100%. (know you are valueble).
• when you have self love you will allow yourself to rest, to live your life fully !
• when you have self love….. banyakkkk lah lagi benda boleh dilistkan.

Embrace your flaws, say positive things to yourself everyday, build up your relationship with Alllah, be grateful, take good care of your body,mind and emotion and many more ways you can do to treat yourself better.

Self love, will always be a journey for me because there are a lot of things I need to improve everyday.

Oscar Wilde once said, “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”

Which means, it’s a not a destination – it’s an everyday practice.

And in the vein of extending that kindness to myself, I constantly need reminding that yes, I am deeply flawed in many ways, but that is what makes me human, and I deserve love anyway.

Lion king is one of my favourite disney movie, the movie that never fail to make me cry like a baby :’)
Simba had to go through many challenges to become a King.
There is also a point in Simba’s life that he wanted to give up.

Same as our life, we have to face many challenges to achieve our goals,
And of course our ultimate goal is to get Allah blessings and enter Jannah.
We will never escape from pain,
Every pain that we’re going through, will hurt us and you know what ?
It will also shape us to be a stronger and better person.

I always remind my friends this thing every time they feel like they’re a failure for not getting good marks and slow in studies,

“It’s okay if you didn’t achieve what you wanted. It’s okay if you’re slower from others, The important thing is you really understand what you’re learning.
Don’t ever give up, always be grateful for what you got. Then Allah will give you more.”

And if your friends are having a hard time, try to comfort them and listen to their stories.
Exchange your “shoes” with theirs.
Because in life you don’t only learn from your own experiences, you can also learn from others.

Our life journey will never be the same, like how our thumbprint are different from others.
Things will fall into place when the time is right so learn to enjoy the journey.
